We are seeking a motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented Project Engineer to work within the Operations Division as part of our Project Leadership Organization at Apeel Sciences. As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting simultaneous projects in several countries across multiple teams at Apeel Sciences, from project inception through ramp-up, to steady state commercialization. This involves internal and external facing coordination and management to ensure that the objectives of our projects are achieved. You will interface closely with Apeel Sciences design and capital engineering teams as well as manage external-facing relationships with our equipment vendors and customers.

What You'll Do
Be the lead technical role on capital projects accountable for all technical deliverables to achieve project objectives, through the orchestration of technical resources and stakeholders
Support multiple, cross-functional customer integrations from initiation through steady state commercialization
Deliver technical solutions to project objectives through collaboration with internal design and solutions engineering teams, as well as external equipment vendors and customers
Balance technical decisions with impacts to project schedule and budget in support of the project manager
Master the use of digital project and knowledge management tools to track, analyze, and archive project-related deliverables, progress, and learnings
Effectively leverage company technical resources (people and capital) to complete projects economically and expeditiously
Systematically capture knowledge, including (but not limited to) the organization and dissemination of key information, and the documentation of key learnings from customer projects
Clearly and effectively communicate (in written and verbal forms) to Project Managers cross-functional teams and external vendors and customers
Engender support for and build consensus and buy-in for decisions made prior to and during customer integrations
Provide recommendations to help move integrations and steady state operations forward— particularly in times of impasse, ambiguity, or conflict

What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of 5 years experience supporting capital or manufacturing projects
Experience and capability with Autocad or other design / layout software
Experience with project management tools such as productivity software, Gantt charts, and knowledge management databases is preferred
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated organizational ability and high attention to detail
Individuals with strong interpersonal skills and experience working in interdisciplinary teams will be given preference

Quantum Hardware Simulation Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies (ICB) at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is actively seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research in computational modeling and in vitro synthetic biology

The position is officially titled “W.M. Keck Foundation Post-doctoral Scholars,” and is associated with a recently received grant from the Keck Foundation to Professors Omar Saleh and Enoch Yeung at UC Santa Barbara.

The project is focused on discovering, modeling, and controlling the dynamics of self-assembling transcriptionally active DNA to create a first-ever prototype of synthetic chromatin. Research topics of interest within the scope of the project include modeling liquid-liquid phase separation processes, the feedback dynamics and interactions between phase separation and transcriptional regulation, as well as the timing and design of genetic circuitry to govern macro-scale behaviors.

Job Responsibilities:
It is expected that the postdoctoral scholar will work closely with other postdoctoral scholars and Ph.D. students in the project, helping to plan and conduct experiments; analyze experimental data; building a priori (hypothesis driven) and a posteriori (data-driven) models to explore how variations in sequence and control architecture give rise to variations in synthetic chromatin phenotype. The project will be carried out by a team of laboratory researchers along with the two faculty Principal Investigators Enoch Yeung and Omar Saleh.

Basic qualifications
At the time of application, candidates must hold a Ph.D. or be enrolled in a Ph.D. or equivalent international program.

Additional qualifications
PhD in computational biology, engineering with controls or dynamics experience, applied mathematics, or closely related disciplines by time of appointment.

Preferred qualifications
Experience with Python, modeling, wet lab experiments, in vitro DNA-based logic circuits

Test Engineer Intern

We are looking for an intern to start in June 2021! 

The Design Verification department is a great place to learn for students in a wide variety of engineering specialties. Our group includes Test Engineers and Test Technicians with backgrounds in physics, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering. We will be looking for current students pursuing degrees in the above (or similar) areas. 

We test endoscopic imaging systems – camera/scope systems used in minimally invasive surgery. This includes testing of mechanical and thermal properties, electrical interfaces, image quality, and much more. The intern would likely assist in a lot of this testing, along with documentation cleanup. 

We are a collaborative team working on a variety of interesting projects. We are currently working part-time in the office and part-time remote. At KSI, many of our interns have the opportunity to stay on part-time during the school year, and many come back for full-time roles after they graduate.

The ShipHawk Implementation Engineer is a self-motivated, SaaS implementation specialist who guides our clients through their implementation of ShipHawk’s TMS software. The Software Implementation Engineer is a specialized expert that acts as a key technical resource to design, setup, and configure the client’s system(s) to meet their unique business requirements.

With the focus on on-time, on budget, and customer satisfactory go-lives, the Software Implementation Engineer is responsible for meeting with the customer regularly by phone and/or video conference to ensure timely go-lives and training via webcasts.

Software implementation projects are complex, technical and require tactful problem solving, clear and excellent verbal and written communication. You will be joining a fun, close-knit team who are respectful of everyone and will help with your success and career growth.

What you will do:

Maintain an in-depth understanding of ShipHawk’s suite of products and services.
Work with ShipHawk Technical Operations Manager to own project implementation and delivery for ShipHawk clients.
Partner with the Technical Operations Manager to build repeatable, reliable, scalable processes.
Build solid and longstanding relationships with customers through the implementation process.
Successfully onboard new customers to the ShipHawk platform.
Meet or beat target implementation timelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, define and document business requirements for system configuration, development and implementation.
In partnership with internal stakeholders, ensure efficient and effective system configuration, development, testing, billing, training, implementation and launch.
Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and customized training sessions via online webinars, phone or in person.

First 30 days:

Schedule consistent, weekly one-on-one with the Technical Operations Manager
Learn release management processes.
Learn QA processes.
Attend Product retrospective meetings post release.
Conduct a full product audit - understand the full value proposition of the product for each customer type.
Get setup on Company wiki and begin documenting
Establish goals for the first 6 months.
Deliver company updates on implementation activities, initiatives, and impact.

What you bring:

4+ years' experience in software implementation.
A Bachelor's degree.
Must have relevant client management experience in account management, business analysis, consulting, professional services or other SaaS implementation related roles.
Experience conducting client needs analysis and configuring software to meet those needs.
Ability to communicate well through technically challenging situations.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
